ITINERARY

Day 1: Cusco – Quad Biking to Rainbow Mountain – Return to Cusco

Your adventure to Rainbow Mountain by ATV begins early with a hotel pick-up between 3:30 and 4:00 AM in Cusco. We’ll drive south for approximately 3 hours in comfortable tourist transport to Japura, a small town in the Pitumarca District located at 4,200 meters above sea level. Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast to energize for the day ahead.

After a short safety briefing, your guide will provide basic ATV (quad bike) training and a 10-minute practice session to get comfortable with the vehicle. Once ready, we’ll start our exciting quad bike ride through spectacular Andean landscapes filled with vibrant colors and scenic mountain views. The ride lasts about an hour until we reach Qosqopata, situated at 4,900 meters above sea level.

From there, we’ll take a 40-minute hike (approx. 1.5 km) along a beautiful mountain path with colorful hills and small streams. Along the way, you’ll witness how the colors of the landscape change depending on the light and weather.

We’ll arrive at the incredible Rainbow Mountain viewpoint (Vinicunca) at 5,036 meters, where you’ll have plenty of time to take amazing photos and videos. Your guide will explain the geological history and cultural significance of this unique natural wonder while you enjoy panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and painted hills.

After soaking in the views, we’ll return on foot to our ATVs (25-minute walk), then ride back to Japura. A hearty buffet lunch awaits before we return to Cusco, arriving at approximately 5:00 PM.
