waqrapukara full day – Santa Lucia – ( cheaper – Económico)

ITINERARY

The tour begins with an early pick-up from your hotel at 4:00 AM for our journey south from Cusco. We’ll travel for approximately two hours to the town of Cusipata, where we’ll enjoy breakfast. Following that, we’ll continue for one hour through the town of Pomacanchi, then embark on a 1.5-hour drive to Santa Lucía, before taking a detour to reach the parking area.

From there, we’ll start a 2 km hike to Waqrapukara, located at 4,300 meters above sea level. The hike will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour and 10 minutes, and along the way, we’ll traverse meadows and cultivated fields until we arrive at Waqrapukara.

Your guide will lead you to explore various sites, including the main square, towers, terraces, and enclosures that will amaze you. You’ll also have the chance to learn about the site’s history while enjoying the stunning views of the landscape surrounding this impressive fortress.

After lunch, you’ll have some free time to further explore the archaeological zone before starting the 40-minute return hike to the parking area. We will then board our vehicle and return to Cusco, arriving between 7:00 and 7:30 PM.
