Itinerary

Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa – Humantay – Cusco

Our tour will begin with the pick up from the hotel between 4:30 and 5:00 am and then we will go aboard our transport to Mollepata (approx. 2 hours). Arriving at this small and picturesque town we will have our American breakfast and then some free time to use the restrooms, buy hydrating drinks and snacks. Later we will continue our trip for 1 additional hour to Soraypampa with an altitude of 3900 masl (starting point of our hike).

Our adventure begins with a panoramic view of the Salkantay and Humantay snow-capped mountains. Where we will have a brief description of the hike, recommendations and indications by our Guide before starting the ascent; once ready we will begin our journey to the Humantay lagoon located at 4300m, after the ascent of approximately an hour and a half we will be able to appreciate the magical lagoon at the foot of the snowy Humantay, it is there where we will have the respective explanation of the place and of course free time to photographs, enjoy and explore the shores of the Turquoise Lagoon.

Once we are satisfied with the majesty of this place, we will return to our van that awaits us in Soraypampa, and then return to the town of Mollepata where our lunch awaits us. Later we will return to the city of Cusco ending our tour at approximately 6:00 pm.

How to get to the Humantay Lagoon?

The only access is through the district of Mollepata, to then take a dirt road towards the community of Soraypampa (end of the road for vehicles), at this point we begin the walk of approximately 1 hour and a half along a path that goes up to the Humantay Lagoon.

What is the best season to visit the Humantay Lagoon?

The best season to visit the Humantay Lagoon is in the Dry Season, between the months of April – October, because in the rainy season the canyon cannot be seen because it is covered in clouds, in addition to the fact that the route is more complicated. .
